Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson

Speak is about a girl entering high school that has had a traumatic experience over the summer. She has to overcome obstacles and face her fears.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan

This story is about a 6th grade kid living in New York City, and weird things always happen to him.
During his 6th year he discovers he is a child of the Greek god, Poseidon, and the Greek gods are currently living in America. And so the saga begins...

Gabriell's Journey

I like Gabrielle Journey because it is a quick read for you who don't like read. The setting is during the civil war.
Alabama Moon

I like this book because it is about a young boy named Moon Blake who has grown up in the forest with his father all of his life, but once his father dies from a broken leg, Moon is captured and taken to an orphanage type house where he meets a kid named Kit and becomes great friends with him. It is about the two friends living out in the wild, as well as one other kid who comes along, living out in the wild. They do everything together until, Kit becomes sick and eventually passes away which breaks Moon's heart. This book is the perfect combination of adventure out in the wild and friendship and caring for each other. Alabama Moon is a great book that you should read, you will love it.
Demon in the Tea House

I liked this because it takes you into a Japanese adventure. That keeps you guessing till the end is near. And it also keeps you on the edge of your seat and you can't put it down till you know what happens next.
The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan

I like this book because it is very suspenseful. This book takes place in New York City. It is about a biy named Percy who finds out he is part immortal because his father is Zues. It is all about his adventures as an immortal. I recommend this book to anyone who likes Greek mythology and suspenseful books.
In the Time of the Butterflies

I recommend this book to all ages. It is a classic story of the importance of family and courage. The story takes place in the Dominican Republic under the tyranny of Fidel Castro. We are taken through the life of three sisters who form the rebellion which saves many people's lives. Their code names are Mariposas which translates to butterflies. This is where the title obtains its meaning. The most important fact is this novel is based on a true story. This book is rooted with deep meaning and moral lessons. Go out and read it today!
